BRAC Bank provides scholarships to Dhaka University students

BRAC Bank Limited has provided scholarships to the meritorious students of Business Studies Faculty of Dhaka University (DU) as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

This year, the bank has given the scholarships to 80 talented students, doubling the number of beneficiaries from the previous year’s 40, says a media release.

Earlier this month, BRAC Bank officials handed over the cheques of the scholarship to the DU authorities in a ceremony held at the Business Studies Faculty of the university.

Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, deputy managing director and chief risk officer (CRO) of the bank, handed over the cheques to the DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman.

Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan, Dean of the Business Studies Faculty Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Head of Communications of BRAC Bank Zara Jabeen Mahbub and other senior officials were also present at the ceremony. 

BRAC Bank started the education scholarship in 2017 by providing scholarships to 40 students.
