Burnt Narsingdi student loses battle for life

Fulon Rani Barman, who had been doused with kerosene and set on fire in Narsingdi, has died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital, 13 days after the arson attack.

The 22-year-old was receiving treatment at the burn unit of the hospital. She died on Wednesday morning, said Md Bachchu Mia, inspector of DMCH’s police outpost.

Fulon passed her HSC exams in 2018. Afterwards, she couldn't get admission to anywhere because of financial troubles, reports bdnews24.

Miscreants set the girl on fire while she was returning home from a grocery shop around 8:45pm at Birpur on June 13 last.

A case was filed in this connection the next day. The motive could not be known yet.

According to a UNB report. police arrested four suspects.
