Anti-drug drive: 64 arrested in two districts

Law enforcers detained at least 64 people in Sherpur and Chapainawabganj districts during anti-drug drives from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

In Sherpur, 40 people were arrested along with 37 grams of heroin, 100 Yaba pills and 1 kg helm from different places, reports UNB.

Additional Police Superintendent Md Aminul Islam said at least 11 cases were filed against the arrestees with different police stations in the district.

In Chapainawabganj, 24 others were arrested from different places of Sadar and Shibganj upazilas, said inspector Idris Ali of Sadar Police Station.

On Tuesday noon in PTI Milpara area, executive magistrate Nayan Kumar conducted an anti-drug drive, he said.

The mobile court awarded four months jails to each of the four drug addicts. The rest were arrested in drives from different places.
