DMP arrests 62 during anti-drug drives in city

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) attested 62 people in 24 hours from the capital for selling and consuming drugs.

They were apprehended between 6:00am Friday and 6:00am Saturday during the DMP's special anti-narcotics drives.

DMP Detective Branch and local thana police conducted separate drives from Friday.

A total of 42 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act with different police stations during this time, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.

The law enforcers recovered 1,497 yaba pills, 316 grams heroin, 135 bottles of phensedyl, 192 beer cans and 24 injections, reports UNB.
