A suspected drug trader was killed in a 'gunfight' with members of Rapid Action Battalion on marine drive road in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar in the early hours of Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mohi Uddin, son of Sirajul Islam, a resident of Komboniapara in Naikhongchhari upazila.

Azim Ahmmed, wing commander of RAB-15, said on secret information a team of RAB conducted a drive near a hatchery in Baharchhora marine drive area.

The injured was taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where he died at around 11am.

The RAB team also recovered one LG, three-round bullet and 10,000 Yaba tablets from the spot.
