Housewife killed over family feud in Narsingdi

A housewife was hacked to death allegedly by her husband over family feud at a village in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Nargis Akhter, 20, wife of Lokman Miah at Daripara village in Dulalpur union of the upazila.

On Saturday morning, locals and relatives found Nargis, daughter of Salahuddin of Kamar Char village of Sadar upazila, dead while Lokman was injured.

Nargis's uncle alleged that Lokman killed her wife for dowry while Lokman's relatives claimed that some robbers killed Nargis and injured her husband.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy and Lokman was also admitted to the same hospital.

According to UNB, Shibpur Police Station officer-in-charge Abul Kalam Azad said they are investing into the matter.

A case was filed in this connection, he added.
