A gang of muggers attacked two ‘bKash’ agents and snatched away Tk 1.1 million after shooting them at Chandana intersection area of Sadar upazila in Gazipur on Sunday.
The injured were identified as Asaduzzaman and Iqbal Hossain, employees of Jamaddar Enterprise of the area.
The seriously wounded duo was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Police Station.
A gang of four muggers obstructed them when they arrived at a local bank to deposit the collected money amounting Tk 11,000,00, said the OC quoting the victims.
"At one stage, the muggers shot them and fled away with the snatched money," he said.
Police recovered a pistol and 5 rounds of bullets from the spot, the OC said adding that drives were underway to detain the robbers, reports UNB.
