BNP chief Khaleda Zia gets bail in two graft cases

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has secured bail in the Zia Welfare Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases.

Khaleda returned to Dhaka from London on Oct 18 after warrants were issued against her in three cases. The Dhaka Special Judge’s Court – 5 set the bond at Tk 100,000 after she appeared before it and requested bail on Thursday, reports bdnews24.com.

Barrister Amir Uddin Sarker, Abdur Rezak Khan, AJ Mohammad Ali, and Sanaullah Miah represented Khaleda Zia at the hearing. Lawyer Mosharraf Hossain Kajol represented the Anti-Corruption Commission.

The court said that Khaleda Zia would need to take permission from the court before any further trips abroad while the cases were still ongoing.
