Mohammad Ali, vice-president of Chittagong city BNP, dies aged 49

Chittagong city BNP vice-president Mohammad Ali passed away at a port city hospital on Sunday night. He was 49.

Ali breathed his last at National Hospital in Mehedibagh area of the city around 8:00pm where he had been receiving treatment for last 15 days over liver complications.

He will be buried at Hazrat Garib Ullah Shah Mazar in Chittagong on Monday after the namaz-e-janaza at Jamiatul Falah Jame Mosque following Zuhr prayers.

Prior to this, his body will be kept at BNP's Kazir Dewry office for two hours from 11:00am to 1:00pm for people, including party leaders and activists, to pay last respects to him, according to a news agency report.

He is survived by wife, two daughters, and two sons.

BNP standing committee members Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Abdullah Al Noman, former foreign minister Manjur Morshed Khan, City BNP president Dr Shahdat Hossain, general secretary Abul Hashem Bakar expressed their deep shock at the death of Mohammad Ali.
