Obaidul Quader asks BCL to hold council in March

Awami League General Secretary Oabidul Quader has asked Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders to hold its next council within March this year.

"I have discussed with our leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina about the BCL council. She wants it to be held by March, the month of independence," he said on Saturday.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister came up with the statement while addressing a programme marking BCL's 70th founding anniversary at Aparajeyo Bangla on the Dhaka University campus.

Obaidul Quader advised the incumbent president and secretary of BCL for taking preparations to hold the council.

"Though there're some criticisms against the incumbent committee, they also have some achievements," he said.

BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag presided over the programme.

According to UNB, AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organising Secretary Enamul Haq Shameem and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, BCL General Secretary SM Zakir Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion.
