Attorney General Mahbubey Alam today said BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s physicians are lying about the health of the client to gain court’s sympathy.

“They claimed that she had become senseless, which is not true. Her sugar level gone down and it was revived by giving her a chocolate. Khaleda’s counsels are doing this to gain court’s sympathy,” the attorney general said while talking to newsmen at his office on Sunday.

“I know defence counsels will made ruckus on media regarding this. That is why I had talked to IG Prisons before going into court. He told me about her health condition. At this age, such things can happen,” Attorney General Mahbubey Alam added.

The chief state counsel said the government is very much serious about the health of the BNP chief, adding, that is why we allowed her personal physicians to check her in jail, reports BSS.

“The incident took place on June 5 and her personal physicians went into jail yesterday, a day before the hearing of a case against her. They are trying to make the situation murky here. It is sad when even the physicians try to do politics,” he added.
