19 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami were arrested while they were holding a secret meeting at Dhalahar village under Sadar upazila in Joypurhat on Thursday.
Officer-in-charge of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Sirajul Islam said some Jamaat leaders and activists were holding a clandestine meeting. Police launched a drive at a school building after Fazr prayers and arrested them.
The law enforcers also seized some 'Zihadi' books from their possession, he said, reports UNB.
