RAB detains two with 1,960 Yaba pills in Rajshahi

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug pedlars with banned Yaba tablets from a commercial place in Rajshahi city on Monday night.

RAB sources said the arrestees were identified as Ashukur Rahman, 42, son of Abdul Aziz, and Badal Mondal, 45, son of late Nazer Mondal.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid at Seroil Bus Terminal under Boalia Model Police Station at around 10.30 pm and arrested them.

The RAB team recovered 1,960 pieces of Yaba tablets and Tk 9,832 in cash after searching their bodies.

The sources said the detainees were involved in Yaba trading and trafficking for long, BSS reported.

A case was recorded with the police station in this connection. The arrestees along with the seized contraband items were handed over to the police today (Tuesday).
