Three-day DC conference to begin July 24

Three-day conference of the Deputy Commissioners (DCs), an annual meeting of the heads of districts with policy makers of the government, will begin on July 24.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on July 24 . . . the conference will continue till July 26,” additional secretary of the cabinet division Faruk Ahmed said.

The cabinet division organises the DC conference each year, aimed to gear up grassroots administration, accelerate development activities of the government, analyze and evaluate the government’s policy execution at grassroots level and hold direct view-exchange meeting between the government’s policymakers and DCs, he said.

Noting that the DC conference is a very important programme of the state, the official said an open discussion with the prime minister usually takes place and the premier gives a patient hearing of different problems of the DCs across the country and gives them necessary directives, reports BSS.

Ministers, advisers, state ministers, deputy ministers, senior secretaries and secretaries concerned will attend the DC conference. Cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam will preside over the programme.
