Bangladesh-Malaysia to sign MoU on tourism cooperation

Bangladesh and Malaysia are planning to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for increasing cooperation aimed at further development of tourism sectors of both the nations.

The decision was made when Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Nur Ashikin Mohd Taib met Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal at the secretariat in Dhaka today (Thursday).

During the meeting, the Malaysian envoy said his country is keen to work with Bangladesh in further development of both aviation and tourism sectors.

The high commissioner requested to increase flight frequency between Bangladesh and Malaysia considering the growing numbers of business and tourist travellers from both sides.

The Bangladesh minister assured the envoy that necessary steps would be taken to increase flight frequency between the two countries.

Kamal also said the present government is working to expand the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) by constructing the third terminal, reports BSS.

Besides, the government will build mega Bangabandhu International Airport to make Bangladesh an aviation Hub in the South and South East Asia region.
