Awami League central leader Dr Hasan Mahmud has claimed that BNP leaders remain tight-lipped about Zia family's offshore properties in Saudi Arabia.

Criticising BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Hasan said, "All the time he used to talk..., but why did he keep mum when the money laundering family in Saudi Arabia cases has exposed?"

AL's Publicity and Publication Secretary made the allegations while addressing a rally on Sunday organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital.

"Begum Khaleda Zia has many properties, including shopping mall and building in Saudi Arabia. According to media reports, Zia family has assets worth over Taka thousands of millions in 12 countries," he said.

According to BSS, the former minister asked the government to identify all the illegal assets of Zia family in different countries through proper investigations and bring the asset back in the country.

AL's Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, BSJ Vice-President Asrar Ul Hasan Asur, General Secretary actress Falguni Hamid also addressed the programme.
