Detectives arrest cop for ‘Yaba trading’ in Mymensingh

Detectives arrested a constable of Mymensingh Court on Saturday night for his alleged involvement in drug trading.

The arrestee was identified as Constable Al Amin.

Ashiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch of district police said that police arrested suspected drug trader Motaleb on Friday noon along with 12,000 pieces of Yaba tablets.

In primary interrogation, Motaleb said that he received the tablets from Constable Al Amin.

Later on Saturday night, a team of DB police arrested Al Amin from the court premises.

Meanwhile, Inspector Kamruzzaman and two sub-inspectors Saiful Islam and Monir Hossain of the court were withdrawn to the district police lines in connection with arrest incident, said SA Newazi, additional superintendent of Mymensingh police.

The three policemen of the court were closed following arrest of Constable Al Amin in drug trading case.

Besides, a case against Al Amin and Motaleb was filed with Kotwali Police station, UNB reported.
