Dhaka bourse sees sharp rise in early trading

The Dhaka bourse witnessed another sharp rise in the early trading on Tuesday as majority number of securities went green after a moderate correction observed on previous session.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE)  opened on a positive note and continued the upward trend for more than one and half hours.

The sharp rise of broad index was driven by the major sectors. DSEX, the broad index of the country's prime bourse, gained 1.61 per cent or 91.31 points to close at 5745.54 points at 12.17pm when the report was filed.

The turnover on the DSE trading floor stood at above Tk 4.52 billion also at the same time.

Of the total issues are being traded, 266 advanced, 46 declined, and 25 remained unchanged at 12:17pm.

Alif Manufacturing Company was on top of turnover chart with a value of Tk 150 million followed by JMI Syringes & Medical Devices, Olympic Industries, BRAC Bank and Active Fine Chemicals.
