DNCC’s second phase of combing operation continues

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) identified Aedes mosquito larvae in 26 more houses and establishments as it continued the final phase of its combing operation for the second consecutive day on Monday.

DNCC teams also found that 5,221 more houses and establishments had favourable conditions for breeding of Aedes mosquito.

The teams inspected 10,713 houses and establishments in 36 wards of the DNCC on the day.

DNCC in different drives also fined Tk 270,000 to eight organisations for spotting Aedes mosquito larvae inside and outside of their houses and establishments.

The DNCC teams found Aedes mosquito larvae in a total of 73 more houses and establishments after it started its campaign on Sunday.

It has so far inspected a total of 20,763 houses and establishments in all 36 wards of the DNCC area in two days.

Apart from this, DNCC teams also found that 11,991 more houses and establishments had favourable conditions for breeding of Aedes mosquito.

On Sunday, the DNCC started its ‘Special Cleanliness and Combing’ operation in the final phase in the city.

Earlier, on August 25, in the first phase, DNCC started the 10-day combing operation in the wake of a massive dengue outbreak.
