World's first robot citizen Sophia arrives

To attend the Digital World 2017 in Dhaka

World's first robot citizen with artificial intelligence, Sophia, has arrived in Dhaka to attend the Digital World 2017.

A Dragon Airlines flight carrying Sophia from Hong Kong landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 4am on Tuesday.

Public Relations Officer of the ICT Division Abu Naser confirmed about its arrival.

Dr David Hanson, the creator of the humanoid robot, is due to arrive tonight (Tuesday night), he said.

Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced to award gold membership to the robot, Sophia.

Sophia will be ready to attend the fair on Wednesday after her body parts are installed that were kept in boxes.

According to UNB, there will be two sessions on Wednesday for Sophia. In the first session, the robot will have a meeting with the country's policymakers and journalists.

In the second session, there will be a discussion with young game, software and app developers and innovators.

Dr David Hanson will also present the keynote paper on artificial intelligence.
