United Power's subsidiary declares dividend

United Ashuganj Energy, a subsidiary of United Power, declared 8.75 per cent final cash dividend for the fourth quarter of fiscal year (FY) 2017-18.

During the year, the United Ashuganj Energy paid total 41.75 per cent cash dividend equivalent to more than Tk 1.67 billion, according to a disclosure posted on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website on Sunday.

The company also declared 9.75 per cent interim cash dividend for the first quarter (Q1) for the FY 2018-19 based on the un-audited financial statements.

United Ashuganj Energy Ltd (UAEL), the 195 MW (Gas Based) power plant operated under the PPP model, declared the final and interim dividends in its 30th and 31st board meetings.

United Power Generation & Distribution Company owns 92.41 per cent stakes in United Ashuganj Energy with effect from July 01, 2018.

Following the news, United Power topped the day's turnover chart on the prime bourse while top ten traded companies grabbed 26 per cent transaction.

According to statistics available with the DSE, about 890,933 shares of United Power were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 269 million, which was 5.21 per cent of the day's total turnover.
