Egyptian entrepreneurs mull to invest in power sector

New Egyptian Ambassador Walid Ahmed Shamseldin has said that his country’s investors would like to invest in Bangladesh, particularly in power sector.

He said he would “work hard” in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries particularly in the areas of economic development, trade and investment, agriculture and tourism cooperation.

The ambassador made those comments while paying a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali at his office in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Ali lauded the “remarkable” progress of Egypt in recent years.

He affirmed Bangladesh’s continuous efforts to deepen ties with Egypt.

Both sides stressed on high level visits with a view to further cementing the existing bilateral cooperation, said the foreign delegate.

They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interests and hoped to continue support each other in the UN and other international bodies, reports bdnews24.

The foreign minister also appreciated the support and cooperation of Egypt on the Rohingya crisis. The Ambassador also expressed his concern about Rohingya issue.
