Trade gap stands at $5.32 billion in Jul-Oct

Merchandise trade gap with the rest of the world stood at $5.32 billion in the first four months of the current fiscal year (FY19).

Update data on the balance of payments (BoP) released by Bangladesh Bank on Monday also showed that trade gap reduced marginally from $5.78 billion recorded at the same period of previous fiscal.

Deficit in service trade also came down to $1.03 billion in July-October period of the current fiscal year from $1.74 billion posted during the first four months of FY18.

Central bank statistics further added that current account deficit almost halved to around $2.0 billion during July-October period of FY19. The amount was $3.36 billion in the first four months of the previous fiscal year.
