Telangana Legislative Assembly representing the Goshamahal assembly constituency in Hyderabad

The MLA T. Raja Singh Lodh, a member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly representing Goshamahal, on Tuesday made the controversial statement on a social networking site.

His statement comes in the backdrop of the final draft of the National Register of Citizens that was published on Monday that found more than 4.00 million people as invalid citizens of India.

“If Rohingyas and other illegal settlers from Bangladesh do not return with ‘sharafat’ (in a good manner), then we have to teach them in their own language,” he said in his video message.

Singh said, “They should be shot. Otherwise our country cannot be in safe hands,” accordintg to Indian media reports.

He said since the liberation war in 1971 a large number of Bangladeshis started infiltrating Assam. It is the responsibility of the Centre and state governments to send illegal settlers to Bangladesh.

He suspected a conspiracy to destroy India behind these illegal immigrants from Bangladesh settling in Assam.

In another social media message, he said all Muslims staying illegally in India should be sent back to their countries.

“This needs to be done on top priority considering India’s safety. If they do not want to leave our country, we should drive them out of the country at gunpoint.” said the MLA.

Singh is known for making controversial remarks. He recently termed those who host Iftar parties as beggars for votes.

He had once said it was because of the secular Hindus that the Mughals and the British ruled India for centuries.

Singh has been booked by the Hyderabad police several times for his alleged provocative speeches and statements.
