Authorities of the University of Dhaka (DU) gave reception to 33 retired professors of different departments with honorary crests for their contribution to academia of the institution.
At a graceful ceremony on Saturday night, DU Vice-Chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman handed over the crests to them as chief guest.
The event was held at the conference room of the business faculty at the university campus.
DU Teachers' Association (DUTA) President Prof A S M Maksud Kama presided over the function while pro-VC (education) Professor Dr Nasreen Ahmad, pro-VC (administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad addressed the event as special guests.
Some of the retired teachers recalled memories of their career at the programme where Deans of different faculties, chairman of different departments were also present.
