Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) on Saturday distributed scholarship among the brilliant and poor students of the country.
Governor of Bangladesh Bank Mr. Fazle Kabir handed over the scholarship cheque among the students as the Chief Guest in a programme held at Officers Club in the city.
A total of 500 students from different colleges, medical colleges and universities received the scholarship for their brilliant results.
The latest batch includes 160 male students for SSC and 140 female students for SSC level, 120 male students for HSC and 80 female students for HSC level.
They will receive a total of Tk. 4 crore 19 Lac as scholarship on monthly basis.
The Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited Mr. Akkas Uddin Mollah presided over the ceremony while The Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Foundation Engineer Md. Towhidur Rahman and the Managing Director of the Bank Mr. M. Shahidul Islam delivered speeches.
Among others, Directors Mr. Md. Sanaullah Shahid, Mr. Abdul Halim, Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Mr. Mohammed Younus, Mr. Fakir Akhtaruzzaman, Additional Managing Director Mr. Abdul Aziz, Deputy Managing Directors Mr. M. Akhter Hossain, Mian Quamrul Hasan Chowdhury and Imtiaz U. Ahmed, Head Office executives and scholarship winners were present in the ceremony.
