The university is starting the admission process from this week. The University Authority informed this in a Press Conference at Narayanganj Press Club on Saturday.

USET will ensure skill-based education for the students from middle class and lower middle class families of the country. It will also provide the opportunity of quality education for the underprivileged students of the rural and urban areas.

Speaking on the occasion, eminent economist Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chief Patron, USET said, “The objective of this university is to contribute towards the sustainable development of the country by developing skilled people and supporting employment. The students of this university will be able to learn, think and ask questions which are the three main steps of earning knowledge that ultimately helps people to apply their knowledge in their respective fields.

Dr. Moazzem Hossain, Founder Chairman, USET Trustee Board and Professor (Retd.), Griffith University, Australia said, “To get the result of Fourth Industrial Revolution, we need the collaboration of educational institutions and industries and we have started the university in line with that vision.

He also added, “We are focusing on applied education instead of traditional educational curriculum in the country. Considering the importance of applied education, we will be arranging ‘industrial attachment’ for the students of our university”.

Dr. Tanvir Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate) shared the detailed information about the academic program of USET.  The university is starting its academic program at the temporary campus at Signboard, Narayanganj and the permanent campus will be established at Meghna in Cumilla.

He also added that the myth of unequal standard of Narayanganj compared to Dhaka will be dispelled so that the meritorious students feel comfortable in the new university and can prove their meritocracy.

Engr. M Serajul Islam, Shayaka Sharmin and other members of the Trustee Board were also present on the occasion.
