Three people including two women were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in Debidwar and Daudkandi upazilas of Cumilla district on Tuesday.
Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Police Station, said Rufia Begum, 60, wife of Siddique Mia of Gouripur union in Daudkandi upazila was killed after being hit by a thunderbolt while working at her field in the evening.
Besides, Azmeri Begum, 42, wife of Shamsul Haq Bhuiya of Goalmari union, was killed by lightning strike while serving water to her cattle, reports UNB.
In Debidwar upazila, Majibur Rahman Maju, 55 of Madhumura area was killed after being hit by a thunderbolt while working at his field, said Hakim Khan, chairman of Dakkhin Gunaighar union.
