BGB recovers 500 grams of heroin in Godagari

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 500 grams of heroin from Barinagar Field area under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi district on the early hours of Tuesday.

Commanding Officer (CO) of 53 battalion of BGB in Chapainawabganj Lieutenant Colonel Sajjad Sarwar said, acting on a tip off, a patrol team of BGB from DMC border outpost raided the frontier Barinagar Field area around 12:45 am.

Sensing the presence of BGB officials, a smuggler fled away into India leaving five poly bags of heroin weighing around 500 grams worth Tk 1 million, reports BSS.

Later, the heroin was deposited with the local Narcotics Control office.
