BGB recovers firearms, phensedyl syrup in C’nawabganj

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a pistol, two magazines, seven rounds of bullet and 25 bottles of contraband phensedyl syrup from frontier Raghabbati area under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Wednesday night.

BGB said based on information provided by detectives, a patrol team of 53 battalion of BGB raided the frontier area at around 7:30pm and saw a man coming from Indian territory with a bag. Sensing presence of BGB, the man fled away leaving the bag behind. After searching, BGB men found firearms, ammunition and the narcotics, reports BSS.

Later, the recovered firearms and ammunition were deposited with Shibganj Police Station and the drugs with Narcotics Control Department.
