Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has temporarily suspended two of its engineers over their alleged irregularities in the ‘Newly Connected Four Union Development Project’.
One contractor was also blacklisted in this regard by the DSCC on Wednesday.
Besides, it filed departmental case against the engineers and issued show-cause notice against the supervising official (project director) and consultant of the project involving Tk 7.34 billion.
The suspended officials are Assistant Engineer Khalilur Rahman and Deputy Assistant Engineer Fariduzzaman while name of the blacklisted contractor is GK Enterprise.
The office order came following media reports and video documentary that went viral in the social media regarding the drain construction at Mohammadbagh under Ward 59 of the DSCC wherein the contractor used soil instead of cement for plastering.
DSCC has also sent a letter requesting the local government engineering department (LGED) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) to submit a probe report on the quality of work, used materials and measurement involving the contractor.
