BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has mentioned that the ruling party Awami League is fearful of the freedom fighters (FFs).

She also thinks that the AL and its allies are out to reap alone the benefits from the country’s independence.

The former Prime Minister also criticised the AL-led government for, what she said, neither permitting free expression of opinion, nor allowing pubic rally.

She was addressing a rally organised by her party for the freedom fighters at the Mahanagar Nattaymancha in Gulistan area of Dhaka.

"Is it democracy? Is it the real benefit of our long-cherished independence?" the BNP chief questioned.

She also said no institution is working properly in the country.

"Everyone noticed the forceful resignation of former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha," Khaleda said.
