Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has congratulated India's West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her landslide win in Bhabanipur by-election.
In a congratulatory letter, the Bangladesh foreign minister expressed his hope that the relation between Bangladesh and the West Bengal will be strengthened further for mutual prosperity and development in the days to come, a foreign ministry press release said in Dhaka on Monday.
Dr Momen wished all out prosperity for the people of West Bengal under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and also greeted them for the upcoming Durga Puja.
The West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee won a landslide victory from her home turf Bhowanipore by over 58,000 votes on Sunday.
