President Abdul Hamid left Dhaka for London on Saturday for health checkup.
A VVIP flight (BG-001) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the President took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 9.40am, President's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad said, reports UNB.
Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Huq, acting Dean of Diplomatic Crops Devrim Ozturk, the Cabinet Secretary, chiefs of the three services, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, Foreign secretary, Home affairs secretary, Inspector General of Police, acting British High Commissioner in Dhaka Kanbar Hossein Bor , and other civil and military officials saw the President off at the VVIP Lounge of the airport.
Abdul Hamid is expected to return home on September 8 next.
