Rain, thundershowers likely across six divisions

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur in six divisions and different regions of the country on Friday and Saturday, according to an official at Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

Talking to The Financial Express, Abdul Mannan, a BMD meteorologist, said rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna & Sylhet divisions and the regions of Rangamati & Cumilla.

The highest temperature was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi on Thursday while the lowest temperature was 19.0 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat on Friday, according to the Met Office regular bulletin.

The BMD, in its weather forecast on Friday morning, said weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

In its 24-hour forecast, the Met Office said day and night temperature may drop slightly and may remain this way over the next 72 hours.

Trough of Westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, it said adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.

The sun set at 6:18pm on Friday and will rise at 5:43 am on Saturday in Dhaka.
