Section 144 imposed in Brahmanbaria

Local administration imposed Section 144 at Ramrail union in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila for Saturday as two groups called their meetings at the same venue and time on the same day.

Executive magistrate Jannatul Ferdous, who is the upazila nirbahi officer of Sadar upazila, imposed the restriction on Friday night which took effect from 6am today. It will remain in force until further notice.

Sources said Muktijuddher Chetona and Adarsha Bastobayan Parishad, a platform of freedom fighters, called a rally in a field adjacent to Ramrail Union Parishad Bhaban for 3:00 pm today.

Ramrail union unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League also called a meeting in the field at the same time, UNB reported.

Apprehending a trouble, the local administration on Friday night imposed the emergency section following an application submitted by the officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the UNO.
