Three female HSC examinees commit suicide in three districts

Three female students have committed suicide in as many districts after failing in this years' Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.

In Manikganj, Mitu Akter, daughter of Mosaddek Hossain of Kusta Village in Ghior upazila committed suicide by taking poison on Friday morning as she failed to pass the examination, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ghior Police Station.

In Khulna, Oisharya Roy, 18, daughter of Babul Roy, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at around 11:00 pm at Maniktala in the city, said Kazi Mustaq Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station.

She appeared in the examination from Mohsin Mohila College.

In Panchagarh, Shabnur Akter, 19, daughter of Rafiqul Islam of East Jalshi in the district town, committed suicide for failing to secure pass marks in this year's HSC examination, UNB reported.

She appeared in the examination from Panchagarh Government College and failed for the second time, said Rabiul Hasan Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Panchagarh Police Station.
