The ERF Institute, run by the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF), launched its first-ever training course on Saturday, aiming to enhance the skills of economic journalists.
The daylong session, focused on data journalism, was held at the ERF auditorium in Paltan Tower in Dhaka.
A total of 20 participants, including ERF members, economic reporters from outside the forum and students of journalism, took part in the course.
The training was conducted by data journalist Muhammad Imran and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Director Mohammad Touhidul Islam.
The course was coordinated by ERF Institute's Course Coordinator Asjadul Kibria.
ERF President Doulat Aktar Mala and General Secretary Abul Kashem delivered welcome speeches at the opening session. Advisory board members of the ERF Institute -- former ERF Presidents Saiful Islam Dilal and Sharmin Rinvi, and founding members Shahiduzzaman and Munima Sultana -- also spoke.
