A Bangladeshi Argentine football fan died of cardiac arrest while celebrating his team's victory after the Nigeria-Argentina match of 2018 Russia World Cup at Beldarpara in Rajshahi city early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Selim Hossain, 45, of Mahaldarpara in the city.
Locals arranged a place to watch the football match on a big screen at Beldarpara on Tuesday night, said Aman Ullah, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station.
Selim, a fan of Argentina football team was also there to watch the game of football on the big screen.
When Argentina scored the second goal as the sign of their victory, Selim burst into joy and at one stage, he fell down, said a UNB report.
Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
