BB inks deal with SME Foundation to expand credit programme

Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Tuesday signed a loan agreement of Tk 500 million with SME Foundation to expand its credit programme.

In presence of BB Governor Fazle Kabir, General Manager of the BB’s SME Department Sheikh M Selim and Managing Director of the SME Foundation M Shafiqul Islam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides, said a press release.

Among others, BB Deputy Governor SM Moniruzzaman and Executive Director M Abdur Rahim were present at the function, reports BSS.

Following the agreement, the central bank will provide Tk 500 million to the SME Foundation for providing soft loan to the SME cluster and women entrepreneurs.
