The bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Australia has stood at $2.44 billion now.

Australian high commissioner in Dhaka Julia Niblett disclosed this at a programme in the capital on Tuesday evening ahead of the Bangladesh-Australia Trade Fair.

The trade show will be held from November 13 to 15 in Sydney, according to a media release from the Australian embassy on Thursday.

Commerce minister Tipu Munshi, who will lead the Bangladesh trade delegation to the fair, was also present at the event.

Ms Julia said both Bangladesh and Australia are eager to expand the mutual trade cooperation.

She thanked the Bangladesh commerce ministry for making a sincere effort to promote bilateral trade.

A business delegation of women from Sylhet Chamber of Commerce is also going to take part in the Sydney show.
