BKB managers urged to attain 100pc targets

Managers of the Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) were directed to achieve 100 per cent of their targets to make every branch profitable.

They were also advised to coordinate and collaborate efficiently with the bank's lawyers concerned, who are currently dealing with the lawsuits regarding default loans pending with different courts, to recover those promptly and smoothly.

These calls were made at a day-long conference of managers and field officers of the bank, held at the BKB complex in the capital on Thursday.

BKB general manager Mohammed Khaleduzzaman spoke at the conference as the chief guest, while Md Rashidul Islam, chief regional manger (deputy general manager) presided over it.

Mr Khaleduzzaman emphasised disbursing new loans and collecting deposits at lower interest rates along with loan recovery and remittance collection.

He also stressed the need for a balance and compatibility between deposit and loan for faster progress of the bank.

Asking the officials to broaden their mindset over account opening, he also called upon them to increase fresh loan disbursement for rapid growth of the bank.

Md. Mazharul Islam, principal - BKB Staff College, and F M A Rahim, divisional audit officer - BKB, delivered their speeches as the special guests.

Kazi Kawser Ahmed, deputy general manager - Dhaka divisional office, and Shafiqur Rahman, regional audit officer - Dhaka, also spoke at the function.
