Dhaka city has been hit by rains for the second day in the rainy season that started on Saturday.

This time, it is with thunders frequently roaring in the sky and thus instilling fears in the pedestrians.

Starting in torrents around 11:30pm, the rains are likely to linger, as the weather office has forecast.

In around 50 minutes of rains until around 12:20pm, the city saw traffic chaos at its various points, including Purana Paltan.

According to the Met office, rains are likely to intensify across the country, including Dhaka, from Thursday, the sixth day of the rainy season.

Dwellers in the city also had rains on the very first day of the rainy season that follows the scorching summer.

Though the temperature is supposed to drop in the rainy season, it remains almost the same as in the summer.

Climate scientists blame climate change for such strange behaviour of the weather in the country.

Bangladesh is one of the countries in the world, most affected by climate change effects.
