DSE opens week on positive note

Dhaka bourse rose marginally in early trading on Sunday following the mixed performance of the major sectors.

The market started the session with a positive note and continued the trend for first twenty minutes.

Later, DSEX — the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) lost some points as some major sectors were in correction mood.

After one hour of the session, the DSEX settled at 5347.37 points with a rise of 0.18 per cent or 9.94 points.

The shariah based index DSES and blue chip index DS30 also advanced narrowly.

The turnover value stood at above Tk 3.31 billion after one hour of the opening session.

Of the total issues are being traded, 145 advanced, 127 declined, and 36 were unchanged.

Ifad Autos was the most traded stocks till then with a value of Tk 199 million followed by BBS Cables, Nahee Aluminum Composite Panel, KDS Accessories, The Peninsula Chittagong, and National Polymer Industries.

Most of the banks were in declining mood, while the financial institutions performed mixed on the DSE.
