A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed four persons on three days of remand each in a case lodged over making and supplying false coronavirus (COVID-19) infection certificates.

The four accused are: Fazal Huq, 40, Md Sharif Hossain, 32, Md Jamshed, 30, and Md Liyakat Ali, 43.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devabrata Biswas passed the order as investigation officer (IO) and Mugda Police Station sub-inspector Foysal Munshi produced them before the court and pleaded to place them on seven-day remand.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on June 15 arrested the four with a huge number of false coronavirus infection certificates from the capital’s Mugda area.

RAB also recovered two computers, two printers and two scanners from their possession.

The elite crime busting agency later handed them over to police and filed the forgery case with the Mugda Police Station, reports BSS.
