The High Court on Thursday directed the government to give appointment to five candidates of different BCS examinations who had been recommended by the Public Service Commission (PSC) after following all the procedures.

The High Court bench of Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Kazi Ebadoth Hossain delivered the verdict after hearing five separate writ petitions filed by the candidates.

The petitioners are--- Md Safayet Hossain of 33rd BCS examination, Shahin Sultana of 34th BCS examination, Md Arifuzzaman of 35th BCS examination and Md Saiful Alam and Meherin Akter Sarwar of 39th BCS examination.

Lawyer Md Siddique Ullah Miah who appeared in the court hearing on behalf of the writ petitioners said the court has directed to comply with the verdict immediately.

Mr Siddiq Ullah said his clients passed the BCS examinations and the Bangladesh Public Service Commission had recommended the government for their appointment. But the authorities concerned did not give them appointment nor any explanation as to why they were not recruited, he said.

The lawyer said that the government decision to refrain them from joining their posts is clear violation of the Constitution.

Then the candidates filed a writ petition with the High Court recently challenging the government steps to refrain them from joining their posts. After hearing the petitions, the HC issued rule over the petitions.
