Impose penalty on day-old chick breeders

RETAIL price of poultry egg and poultry bird has been increasing since May 01, 2016. I am a regular consumer of both poultry egg and bird. The retail price of poultry egg increased from Tk.84 to Tk.105 per dozen. The retail price of live bird increased from Tk.130 to Tk.175 per Kg. It is known from retailers and print media that chick breeders who sell one-day old chicken to poultry farmers have increased the price per chicken from Tk.25-Tk.30 to Tk.80-Tk.85. Print media reports that total 60 breeders including Kazi, Paragon and Aftab have informally made a syndicate and increased the day-one old chick price so high to earn abnormal profit, which infringed upon the right of consumer of poultry bird and eggs. A few years back the breeders did the same thing. They did so to earn abnormal profit at the cost of the consumers' rights. Millions of consumers like me are the worst sufferers of such illegal syndication. We are being forced to pay high price for egg and birds.
I would like to urge the Directorate of National Consumer Rights to impose huge financial penalty on the irresponsible breeders of day-old chicks who have been selling those chicks at the rate of Tk.30 per piece and thus save the consumers from being oppressed by illegal syndication of the breeders.
