He said the estimated street value of the 2.25kg cocaine is around Tk 225 million, reports bdnews24.com.

The six people arrested included cocaine-peddling 'ringleader' Arifur Rahman alias Sagir.

"Sagir has been running operations from a rented house at city's Gagan Babu Road for quite some time now," said RAB 6 Commanding Officer Islam.

The others arrested have been identified as Sohel Rana, Bikash Chandra Biswas, SM Ershad Hossain, Biksah Chandra Mondol and Fazlur Rahman Fakir.

"Acting on tip-off, Rana was arrested on Friday night in possession of 230 grams of cocaine," said the senior RAB officer.

Based on information given by him, Sagir was detained from his home in the city.

Following Sagir's arrest, Bikash Biswas was held from a village in Rupsha Upazila.

"The rest of the seized cocaine was found with Bikash. The others were arrested after interrogating him," said RAB-6 chief Islam.
