Rangpur divisional nature summit on July 29

It started with a dream -- a dream to unite the whole nation under a single divisional national festival. Now that dream has become a reality for Chattogram, but all that awaits are the remaining seven divisions. So Notre Dame Nature Study Club (NDNSC) is back for the second divisional festival of the 13th National Nature Summit 2022. The Rangpur divisional festival will be held at Saint Philip's High School and College, Dinajpur on July 29, 2022 (Friday).
With the aim of inspiring the youth to take initiatives to work toward climate action, NDNSC in partnership with the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change through their ongoing project "Integrated and Participatory Project to Control Noise Pollution" is going to host the second divisional festival of the 13th National Nature Summit 2022.
The 13th iteration of the annual fest already began with its launching and Chittagong divisional festival on July 01, 2022. The 13th National Nature Summit is being hosted this year, with the goal of a "Nationwide Awareness Campaign" and the motto of "Voice of Youth on Climate Change" to remember that we might be the last generation that can still reverse climate damage. The first divisional round of Chittagong saw a colossal crowd of over 1600. Over 10,000 students, teachers, environmentalists, and guardians from across the country are expected to attend this festival, as NDNSC awaits more than 1000 presence in the Dinajpur division.
NDNSC has always believed that inclusiveness and collective efforts are the way to go, so this fest was open to Primary Level (class 1 to 5), Junior Level (class 6 to 8), Secondary Level (class 9 to 10), and Higher Secondary Level (class 11 to 12) categories. 13th NNS has solo events like nature quizzes, art competitions, team-based events like project display, wall magazine, green marathon, online events like green bee, confab presentation, photography contest. Moreover, it will showcase a seminar on "Sound pollution and actions to address the issue" organised by the Department of Environment.
The chief guest for the NNS Dinajpur round's inauguration is the first-ever Catholic Christian woman to be in parliament, Advocate Gloria Jharna Sarker, member of parliament for women's reserved seat-30. Sebastian Tudu, the bishop of Dinajpur and a member of the CBCB (Catholic Bishops' Conference of Bangladesh), will be present as the guest of honour. Notable special guests also expected to be present are the Principal of St Philip's High School and College, Brother Kajol Linus Costa, and Md Joynul Abedin, the chief executive officer of Dinajpur Zilla Parishad. The chair of the ceremony will be adorned by none other than the Principal of Notre Dame College, Dhaka, Father Hemanto Pius Rozario.
With regard to what one might expect from this, the moderator of Notre Dame Nature Study Club, Biplob Kumer Deb, said, "Notre Dame Nature Study Club has always been a pioneer, so for the first time in Bangladesh, we are trying to reach the further corners of our country to spread the goals of our club. Our eight-divisional festival is designed to raise nationwide awareness about the country's deteriorating climate conditions and take active actions toward improving them. That's what you can expect. "
The prize-giving ceremony will be hosted on the same day (July 29) at 5 pm.
