A local Jubo League activist was hacked to death in an attack by rivals at Meher Afroze High School ground in Chittagong on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Mohiuddin, 30, son of Abu Ibrahim of the area.
Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station, said Mohiuddin was attacked around 3pm during voting for forming a school reunion committee following an internal feud.
According to UNB, the attackers chopped the Jubo League man indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared him dead around 3:30pm, said Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector of the CMCH police camp.
